Osteoarthritis and other hip joint diseases can be treated with hip replacement surgery. This also applies to certain hip fractures. A hip replacement means replacing the joint with artificial prosthetic parts.
The results of these operations are evaluated in the Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register. The main purpose of the registry is to create and disseminate knowledge about the entire procedure so that health care can provide safe and individualized treatment.
